Project Common Youth
The aim of the project Common Youth is to lower crimes and offenses committed by young people, also to have more effective prevention system. The project builds capacity and raises the awareness among youth organizations of how to involve youth at risk, raise their awareness, tolerance, increasing the entrepreneurial mindset and have a better health behavior. At the end of the project, there will be recommendations for the creation of a sustainable network of youth associations and institutions dealing with young audiences.
The program proposal was prepared in close collaboration with the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS) as a donor program partner (DPP) and other institutions in Norway. The program is managed jointly by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research (MoER), the Estonian Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) and by the Estonian Youth Work Centre (EYWC) as a Program Operator Implementing Agency (POIA).
is a 6-week project aiming at increasing the awareness of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to the Estonian and Latvian community. The international youth volunteers will act as the SDG ambassadors and deliver workshops to Estonian and Latvian youth to educate them about the concept of SDGs.
The volunteers and local youth will also discuss the social issues in their city and actions steps will be created to solve the social problems. We hope to empower local youth to create solutions for their communities and become the long-term SDG ambassadors for the society.
